These sounds!!
07 Regular cab 4.2 STX
So I noticed, at least a month ago, at highway speeds my truck makes this noise and it sounds as if it is coming from the front drivers side wheel. It sounds kinda like a sneaker on a basketball court or a little bird chirp. At first I only noticed it at highway speeds but within the past or two week I've noticed it cruising around town, my usual driving habit. It seems to start around 25-30 mph. It makes the noise at random times, not every 5 seconds or something of the such. I'm pretty positive it is not the belt. Had that replaced in late April, early May.
Also, my brakes squeak. Bad, but only after the truck has been running and is warm. Do I need new pads? I've been contemplating new pads because the brake dust is horrific and its embarrassing. Could new pads solve my problems all together? I highly doubt it.
Truck runs fine though. I'm hoping this isn't expensive or to time consuming. I was thinking maybe bad ball joints. I do know somebody with a shop to if that helps any. I tried looking this up but didn't find any helpful info. Maybe somebody has found a fix. I'd like to do this myself but senior year is busier than I thought!

The chirp is probably the pad wear "tattletales". With that and the squealing, you need new front pads and possibly rotors. Pull the front wheels and see what's going on. If you don't know what you are looking at, take it to a shop that advertises free brake inspections.
With the brakes, it may or may not need new parts. Mine have a light squeak on probably 80% of stops but I've had my front brake system pulled apart 3 times and all the components from pads, rotors, calipers, and lines are all fine. It just annoys the hell out of me.
