I know! Just in the last 2 1/2 months I've spent $2,500 But I'd been playing on doing those things for a long time, just needed the time (long tubes took LOTS of time).

I did get to finally show off my truck to a kid that test drove a bone stock one at my dealership. We were talking about it and I was like "yeah, that's mine parked right there"

I'm sure you'll get your lift and tires in the somewhat near future. Everything has to seem inexpensive after dropping cash on a Whipple haha

 

The bumper came in on Monday .... boy does it look sexy .... I'm still mad at how long it took too lol but every time I look at it sitting on the floor I smile lmao

They didn't screw anything up on it and it will be on tomorrow (fingers crossed I have time)

Yea, think my only two options are black or red and I really think it is too much red.

I think I'm going to get it powder coated as well after I get it all installed and welded up. Need to put some custom brackets on the back for the HID ballasts and to custom fab up my stock fogs so I didn't have to buy new.

 

I think having it black is best. These bumpers only look good in black on all trucks, and white on white trucks. Other colors always look a bit off and overpowering.

Definitely don't want to have to shell out more cash for another set of HID fogs!

 

I agree, the white looks phenomenal!

I'm just going to leave it black and to be honest I don't want to worry about scrubbing the bugs off and scratching the paint ... there's enough paint on this thing to worry about already lol

You could bed liner (LineX) it and be even less worried about scratching it! Would probably be cheaper too

Hey OP could you post up close ups of where you welded it and where it meets the front fenders I test fit it tonight and just wanted some more guidance of where its supposed to sit

30-40 doesn't seen to bad. Hell 08FX4SC drove like 5 hours to get to a better LineX shop

You will definitely want to get these powdercoated before hand if you want to do that. Once you get it on, it would be crazy difficult to get your hand back into the frame to unbolt it. I got the bumper and brackets powdercoated, then ground off the powder where I needed to get welded. A quick shot of white spray paint protects it from rusting. Its in areas were no one will ever really see either so overspray didn't matter.

Where the bumper meets the light and fender. This can vary though based on how you want to do it. That is a perk of bolting the brackets on and welding the bumper to the brackets. You can have as little or as much gap here as you want.


And here is where the factory fender flares go behind the bumper. These will have to be cut, otherwise they will bend in and hang a ways beneath the bumper. I just got a dremel and cut them where they look good.

 

Nah, I gotcha! I think neutral/earth tones are fine, like sand as well maybe. But yours looks really good and has me considering going white when I get around to buying my own bumpers
