Spark plug change

So last week my check engine light came on and then yesterday hooked a code reader up and found out my 5th spark plug is misfiring. I know Ford says to replace your spark plugs at 100,000 miles but I only have 70,000 on my truck. Does this seem weird or is it somewhat normal? Also since I have fewer miles on my truck do y'all think the plugs may come out easier and I might not have the problem with the part of the spark plug falling into the cylinder head?

Ford has revised the change interval to 60k.

To prepare for a plug change, start putting Techron into the gas now. It will help loosen the carbon deposits.

Do your research on here before the plug change. There are two methods that work. You can follow the Ford TSB or use the impact method. I have done two trucks with the impact method and had 100% success. Lots of folks has followed the TSB with no problem. I would have a lisle tool handy just in case.

Either way you go I woud run at least two tanks of fuel with Techron or some other fuel system cleaner before you attempt the change like glc mentioned.

The only "other" fuel system cleaner that works for loosening carbon is Gumout with Regane.

I think glc recommended Techron when I did mine a few weeks ago.

FWIW, my truck only has 39k on it. I used the impact method, and it will make it a lot easier if remove the computer box and bracket from the passenger side firewall.

Are you guys using a pneumatic 1/2" impact to remove plugs?

That's a little strong - I'd use a 3/8 electric.

I used a cordless impact. Had the torque turned down to about 60 ft lbs if I remember correctly.

Thanks for all the advice. It just seems like everything is going at once on the truck. Now something's going on with my oil, sounds like something is rattling in my engine when I'm in drive and not moving. Hoping its just the fact my oil level is low.
