Fuel Pump P/N Help

I need to replace the fuel pump on my 2006 (5.4 132.5 wb). I got a price from a dealer that sells at a good price and he gave me p/n 8L3Z*9H307*A. I did some searching online and found a Motorcraft p/n PFS493 at about $100 less. Are they the same? Any help and advice appreciated

Thanks
Charles

Are you sure it's the fuel pump and not just the fuel pump controller?! Much easier fix if it's the controller, and they are known to get corroded in salty areas of the country (Michigan, New England states, etc).

Unfortunately it is the fuel hat, where the fuel lines connect to the pump assembly and short of a junk yard that doesn't seem to be sold separately. I wish it was something easier or less expensive but no.

Since it is your pump....I did some searching....the mc part# does cross with the Ford part#

the mc part# listing came back as more of a universal part than the Ford part#

I did check Ford Parts Giant and the Ford part# listed for $377 right about $50 higher than the mc part#

you may want to check Tousley Ford also...they seem to have good prices also...imo

Thank You. I found the Motorcraft for 230, and I was worried that there must be something different.

Kind of a crazy story. Had a big battery in the bed and some how it tipped over. It leaked for at least a week before I noticed. I just don't drive the truck that often anymore. Well it leaked down through the seem at the front of the bed. I started the truck and was just moving it out of the way. Got out of the truck and fuel was going everywhere.

Didn't know where the problem was so decided to pull the bed so I could see the lines on top of the tank with every thing intact. First three bed bolts loosened just fine, last three all stripped out. What a nightmare
