Talking 2006 Mod List Review

Hey all,

Truck just clicked to 130,000 miles so I decided to go on a spending spree. Pics will follow later for any that might want to see. I'm going to post full-disclosure part, part numbers, install times, and reviews.

I am third owner. I bought truck in Oct. 2010 with 80,000 miles. Bone stock. Full Lariat with all options except Moon Roof, backup sensors, no center console (3+3 Seating), full leather, heated seats, 3.73 gearing, 275x55x20 Stock Wheel and Tire Combo.

When she hit 129,000 I started researching and purchasing my mods, and they are as follows:

1.) SCT SF3 Tuner ordered directly through 5 Star Tuning
I could not be happier with the service from Mike at 5 Star and the tuner is awesome. I first programmed with a generic tune and that alone was worth the money. It shifted at a much better RPM, and was much more responsive. Gas mileage went up .5 mpg.
2.) S&B Intake ordered through my local shop Carbs Unlimited
This intake was referred to me by Mike at 5 Star and I also could not be happier. The product is beautiful with clear acrylic top to see how dirty the intake is. Once installed, I immediately uploaded the custom tunes from Mike and installed the new tune made specifically for the S&B Intake. Now this truck is ALIVE. Instantly a better throttle response, and slight inclines at a higher speed never felt lagging like before.
3.) Magnaflow Catback 16518 ordered through ep-supply on eBay
Here, my wife could not be happier. Her one request was that the truck not be too much louder because our 9 month old sleeps very well inside. I'm happy to report that he still does. At first start, the note is definitely more pronounced. At low RPMs under load (Pulling out of a parking stall) the truck now has a presence and can be heard. But once you are up to speed and going, even my highway speed which is typically 65-70, the sound is barely louder than stock. Only when I get on it to pass someone does the truck let loose like a gorilla and the power increase from the tuner/intake/exhaust makes the truck feel like a whole new animal.
4.) Bilstein 5100 Adjustable Struts (Front) and non-adjustable shocks (Rear) ordered through www.tirerack.com
I've always been a fan of TireRack. They've always have great prices and great customer support. They still do; ordered all four corner shocks in one order. Received in one box. Took to my local tire shop (Elliott Tire) for install. When I picked the truck up I was notified that no hardware was found to adjust the spring mount. I've contacted TireRack and they are having Bilstein drop ship the small hardware kit to me directly. I called Bilstein, was directed to a voicemail, an hour later I got a call and they verified a second time that they are drop shipping me a kit. Amazing service. And Elliott Tire will re-mount the struts and adjust accordingly free of charge. Harmless problem, but great service all around. However, I have no been driving the truck a week on new Bilsteins in stock form and what a difference. The truck handles bumps and ruts much better. Before on rail-road tracks the empty truck bed would kind of jitter and slide out and now does now. Can't wait to get these lifted up a bit.
5.) 275x65x20 BFG All-Terrain KO Tires on Stock Rims
I got them at cost, love the ride and grip of these in deep snow when crossing the mountain passes. Though I generally like a more severe tire like Goodyear MT/R Kevlar, Baja Claws but at this point its unnecessary.
6.) Bak Bakflip F1 Folding Tonneau Cover
Has not yet arrived but the reviews look great.
7.) Bak BakBox Folding Storage Tool Box
See above.
Pics to follow. I think once adjusted, tires/wheels/level. Truck should hold me over until 200k.

I also want to reiterate that I found all my recommendations and reviews from this site. You guys/gals do good work! I'll do before/after pics as soon as they are available if anyone is interested.
