What is this?
I've been having an issue with my 2004 F-150 XLT 4x4 5.4 3v.
When i accelerate it sounds like a can of nails rattling. Its not the wheel hub, and I got the new IWE solenoid. Its not anything that is loose.
Heres a link to what it sounds like... (Its my video of my truck)
If you had this issue please help!

If not that, your cats have broken apart into pieces inside. Mine sounded like this when I found the cat to breaking apart slowly. Eventually a large piece came off and plugged the whole exhaust.

I wouldn't try to mask this problem. These motors shouldn't ever have detonation issues unless there is another problem. Even if the check engine light isn't on it could still have a code, I would run a scan and see what the computer will tell you

The honeycomb inside one of your CATS is broken. My truck has the same problem and I have been waiting for over 2 weeks now for Ford to send a new passenger side CAT to the dealer so it can be replaced under warranty. Roll down one of you rear windows when you are accelerating, or cruising above 1200rpm. You should be able to hear the noise coming from the tailpipe as well.
If not, it could be a timing / cam phaser issue. Maybe your tensioners are broken and there is slack in the timing chain.

Hopefully you're not trying to run a cold air intake without a tune...
BTW,
I also forgot to mention this only happens when i'm in drive. Does not happen when i'm in park and rev the engine.
Also thanks for your input. Greatly appreciated.

It does it at initial acceleration for like a sec if that. Then it stops and it just sounds like i can hear my sexy engine roar now...
So since this was pinging related.. What could it be? What do i need to check/replace?
