mine did the same thing until i charged my battery. i let it run down listening to the radio when i was playing with fiber glass. lights would flicker and had the clicking. had my buddy come jump my truck so i could leave then i put the battery on the charger and have yet to have the prob again.

I have an Optima red top battery, I swear by them cause they never failed me yet. I had one in my old 88' F150 for 7 years. It was only 7 years because i sold the truck so I don't know how much longer it lasted.

I wouldn't take a new Optima battery if it were given to me. Made in Mexico now. Real stand up company to move all those American jobs south of the border.

I'm not disagreeing with you about shipping all the jobs south, but that's not the reason Optima is now junk, because a LOT of batteries are now made in Mexico. The reason can be found in looking at the name of the CURRENT owner, Johnson Controls. I have had experience with them and they are a shell of what the former Optima's were. Everyone has they're opinion (you know that story), but I stand by mine, that being that JC is out to sell batteries, not necessarily ones that last!

It's but one of the reasons, but I completely agree.
