An afterthought question from across the pond

I bought myself some LED switchbacks which im guessing are on a slow boat from China and i've had an after thought to do with the wiring on my F150 been adapted to meet UK regulations.

Do your turn signals stay on/come on as a solid light with your side lights/low beams? To meet UK regs my turn signals will not light unless blinking. So i'm thinking they may not work as anticipated.

This probably seems like a real stupid question but without ripping the front end off and comparing the wiring to OE specs i'm not sure exactly what was changed.

Thanks for any help. And no i cant believe it didn't occur to me either.

The U.S. lights switch on as follows; 1st position is tail lights and front marker/turn lights on steady- sometimes called parking lights, but except in Germany I've never seen anyone park with any lights left on. 2nd position and the low beam headlights come on as well...yes the front signals stay on steady with the low beams.

I'm not familiar with the lights you ordered. Are you saying your truck has already had light wiring modifications to comply with U.K. specifications? Perhaps the new lights will install "downstream" of any wiring modifications...

To get the non EU marked Vehicles UK legal there re some wiring/lighting changes that need to made. We MUST have amber turns at the rear not red so the wiring in changed and an external Reverse light fitted and the back up lights used with Amber bulbs etc.

My front lights are first step brings on the low beam but at a dimmed level. i am going to investigate but i am guessing using a resistor of some kind. Our Side Lights/marker Lights have to be white. 2nd position same as standard. my Turn lights work only as Turn lights.

I think i can probably have a look at replacing the park light feed as with the LED switchbacks they should show white so will be EU legal.

Thanks,
