What's This Noise?

Alright guys! Truck is a 05 F150 4.6 2V 2WD with 113,000 miles.
Truck has never gave any problems until recently it started making this funny whining sound. It's been doing this for about 2 weeks now.

After I start it up, and start slowly driving off, it sounds like there's a Whipple Super-Charger under the hood. It makes a whining noise. From about 0-40 it really starts to scream then it finally dies out.

I'm hoping maybe it's just an alternator or something! It only makes this noise after a cold start-up. I didn't know if it was my Belts [because it's time for new pulley's anyway] or what, but I'm praying it is NOT the transmission. Truck shifts perfect and yes, I do drive her a little hard

What do you guys think it could be?

Sounds like an idler pulley bearing or the phantom alternator whine I've read about.

Yea, it's been happening recently with the cold weather out here in Tx!
We've been having low 30-40 degree temperatures. But, even on some warmer days, it still makes that funny whining noise though.

I have a thread I jokingly made about it yesterday lol. For us in the cooler climates the alternators whine and it sounds like a s/c at times. I look forward to when it really is blower whine haha

Lmao! Well dammit. So is it something that I really need to not worry about or what? I don't want it to keep whining and that be a sign that I need to change some things out. I just researched and found numerous of threads on it. It seems like the idler pulley and alternator whinning in cold temps is norm.

I wonder do I need to replace the alternator and idler pulley though? I was wanting some new pulleys & belts from Troyer anyway, but I wasn't ready to spend the $$$. But this whining noise is annoying as hell.

Yeah I just live with it since its seasonal. But I do have an idler pulley squeaking at startup so that is starting to go bad.

It's the bearing making the noise until it warms up. Not hurting anything really, just a bit funny-sounding. I would get it every morning it got below 20-degrees before I had them replace it (idler or alternator pulley) under warranty. Haven't heard the noise in 3 years since.
