2005 f150 5.4 2wd wheel bearing drama!!!
Well greetings to everyone. I'm back to see if once again you can assist with some repair and troubleshooting.
I recently replaced my front drivers side wheel hub assembly due to a humming sound in front left side. It was loudest at 40 mph up to 65mph then it would go away. Well after replacing the hub with new bearing the noise is still there. Does anyone have an idea if the bearing has to be packed with grease due to the fact that the bearing is already pressed into hub? Why is the noise still there? Could it be something other than bearing? Please help!!!

No, the bearing doesn't have to be greased, in fact I don't think it can be. It is likely something else since the new hub/beaing assy. didn't change anything. I have read of more than one owner who replaced the side that SEEMED to have the noise, only to find out after changing the hub (like you) that it was actually coming from the OTHER side.
Possible Tire noise? Try Rotating the tires front to rear.
i replaced both of my wheel bearings a few times and finally figured out that the actual hubs were worn out and there was a minute amount of play from the outside race of the bearing and hub. I bought the centric hub assembly with removable rotors. problem solved. it took me 8 months of replacing bearings to figure it out.

Uses the OE 2WD calipers because the rotor and hub are essentially the same, just that they are now in 2 pieces instead of 1.
Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead...
I’m having this same issue regarding rotors/bearings on a 2006 STX, I was going to buy a replacement for the warped one on the passenger side.
I called my local auto parts shop and they do not know anything about part number 120.65128, I described it to them, they said they have never heard of such a thing.
My only question was that if it is worth changing the rotors from the 2wd ones to the 4wd ones…

That's because it is a Centric part #. I'm not surprised the parts store guys had never heard of it. Most of 'em have never heard of rain or ice cream either. Google "Centric" and you'll find it. I think they are a Centric part (made for or by them) so I don't know if anyone else has them or not. Ford may, but if they do they would be more expensive than Centric and probably not as good. I think Centric stuff is pretty good stuff.
You couldn't be more right...
I found the Centric parts on the internet, but in my case they are about 35% more expensive, because I live in Puerto Rico, and these are H-E-A-V-Y parts. Shipping and handling kills some of their benefit...
How much should these 2wd rotor/bearings last? I have 39,000 miles on my truck...
Thank you

I am glad I found this thread, I as well have a 2wd 07 with stock front hubs on them. Is there a write up on doing this switch? Is it worth it? I have seen online where the entire hub assembly with rotor and bearing could be had for I think around $80 ish to $100 a wheel I believe? How long do stocks last?
