08 problem filling with gas

i have an 08 f150 5.4 supercrew and when i fill up with gas the pump wont stay on, it backs up and shuts it off. i tried a search and i found limited info on a plugged vent line. anyone got any info or experience with this? what the best way to clear it?

Have you tried backing the nozzle out a bit? Sometimes the angle off the nozzle causes the fuel to hit the wall of the fuel inlet and it triggers the shut off when it detects the back pressure. Usually pulling the fuel nozzle out an inch or so will solve the issue.

Guaranteed plugged vent line. Get under the truck a search for a kink or maybe there is just a blockage. I'm not familiar with my f150 set up that way but my super-duty has pinched a few times causing that same problem. I think you have the right idea i think idk that's my guess though. Try blowing some air though it back into the tank with an air compressor, done it before and worked.
