Passenger Window switch
Passenger Window switch
05 fx4
My passenger window goes up and down fine when I use my driver side control, but the passenger side button does nothing for it. Should I order the new switch, or could there be something else wrong?

Window lock switch on? Either Sub Switch or Master Switch
First double check your window lock switch to make sure that it isn't in the lock position making the other windows intentionally not work.I had the same issue with my truck, so I went to the dealer and the parts guy gave me the part and said try it, if it doesn't work or fix your problem just bring it back.
On mine it was the Master Switch, all the sub switches ground though the master. Making it kind of an electrical nightmare. But if it works from the drive side (Master Switch) that means that the window regulator and everything inside the door panel is working. And it more that likely is a switch. But which one is a guess unless you have a test light or multi-meter. If you do the easy switch to test would be to unplug the sub switch and either jump the wires together to operate the window. But with out a diagram its hard to tell which wire is ground and which is power up/power down. It should be a 3 wire plug. or you can test the switch itself by testing for continuity in up/down positions.
Let me know if it works and good luck!

+1... My 05 had/has the same problem. Every window button but the one on the drivers side failed. A quick cleaning, you have to take it apart, and they worked fine again.
First thing to do is take the passenger switch off, then start rolling your window up and down while testing to see if power is reaching the switch. Then check the wire that comes from your switch, if power isn't reaching there then it is the switch. Through checking where the power goes through you can see where the system loses its power and is faulty.
