So,
sorry about that. My question is on my 06 FX4 Screw, I have a dinging noise like you would get when your fuel is low but it dosen't show up on the idiot display. It does this 3 or 4 times before it stops. I'm thinking it may be tied in with my water temp, as that's the only change I notice. i would love to know what it is....

If you can help,
Thanks.

well, it was warmer today, no dinging noise, so I believe it has something to do with my water temp, which is odd. It's odd, as no notice on the idiot display, and as soon as my temp rises above the bottom mark on the scale it stops.
On another note, this truck also shutdown while driving before, didn't matter the speed, just shutdown. I first thought it was the tranny, then possibly the computer, it would do this once a week. Turns out it was the battery. Never had a vehicle that did that. Since I replaced the battery, it hasn't happened since, and it's been almost two months since I replaced it.
Anyone know of an unofficial "book" or something that lists things the truck will do to alert you of issues that don't display?

At first, then when it repeated for 5 minutes after I put my seat belt on, that couldn't have been it.

If you turn the key to the on position does the air bag light come on for a few seconds?

If the bulb is burned out it can do something like that........just a guess.

Put it on a good code reader, it may have a "B" or "C" code stored or pending.

The Auto Zone readers won't do it, they only read "P" codes.

Good luck.

Your airbag bulb has an intermittent connection.

Could it be the tire pressure monitor? When the outside temperature drops sometimes my wife's Audi will indicate low tire pressure when in fact there's enough air. The light sensor and chime goes away when the temp rises above 40

Update (after a year)

Well, just got back for deployment and time to fix the dinging again. Ford had it for a month and couldn't replicate or fix it. I got in the truck and it did it. The mechanic just stared, tried to figure it out but no codes, no issues on their code readers. Still has the 90 seconds of dinging broken up into three times, and every now and then a dim airbag light will come on and then go out. It doesn't do it all the time. Anyone got ideas?

Pretty bad if the Ford dealer can't figure it out.
