Sweet truck!
If you don't mind me asking, what are you thinking about switching to?

Book value on it without all those mods is around 15k. Unfortunately, the mods don't add value to anyone except possibly a kid who you can do a snow job on. Dealers may even deduct for them.

I'd agree w/GLC. Good for around $15K I'd imagine, and the mods are good, but won't add much in value. The bed cover/line-X is probably the most helpful. The rest of the stuff (including those HID's that blind people) are teenager material as far as sales goes.

I have a 05 XLT with several mods as well. Was thinking of a new one too but figured that its been paid off for 4 years and I just had to put in a new factory rebuilt tranny (3200.00). If I bought a new truck I'd be spending big bucks for new mods all over again. My truck is in great shape no problems and runs great. Completly rebuilt the front suspension in June. Although its getting lower mileage than the new ecoboost (15mpg) I make up for that than not making payments and a little lower insurance and registration fees. I'll probably keep mine until the engine dies. Before this truck I had a 1991 Ford Ranger. So I tend to keep my vehicles for over 10 years.
If you save $400 a month by not making payments after a few years you'll have enough cash to damn near pay cash for a new one when you actually need it.
I've been looking at the new ones too but thought "do I actually want to pay $520 a month for 5 yrs". no way.
You got a fine ride, I'd keep it with pride.

I would have to agree as well. Mods are nice but they add no value for 98% of buyers and dealers also don't like them so trade in will not be great.

Where are you located Medic150?. I grew up in Florida, (Brevard county) and that looks like familier background.

When I look at a lot of your modifications the first thing I would think of as a potential buyer is, "There's a bunch of crap that will start causing me problems about three months after I buy the vehicle and I will be SOL because I wasn't the person who originally purchased and/or installed them!"

If I was in the market for a used vehicle, I would look for something as close to factory original as I could possibly find and would "avoid like the plague" any trucks that had a bunch if DIY aftermarket add-ons. I suspect many others feel the way I do, and if possible, you could probably increase the value of your truck by returning as much stuff as you can to the way it rolled off the assembly line.......

Well I wouldn't call his mods "a bunch of crap". There is very little aside from the gryphon/air intake that is going to affect the way the truck performs functionally from stock. Without the ricer-blue rubber coupler on the Gotts mod, 99% of people wouldn't know there was any mod done. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this truck personally, but I wouldn't be paying much more than market value for an '05 F150 Lariat stock. The grill/bed cover/bed liner are about the only add-ons I'd adjust pricing for, probably $500 altogether.

You may do a lot better by returning everything to stock to sell the truck, and then put all those mod items on the classifieds here.

I'll bet you could sell alot of it and make some $$$ on top of what the truck sells for. Just have to be ready to deal with shipping hassles, but it would be worth the effort.

I guess I Just don't want to deal with taking the stuff off. But It might be my best bet.

I agree. I myself rather buy a stock vehicle. But it also depends on what's been modified

Yea. I guess I can sell the small stuff and try the bigger stuff locally.
