dan08fx4 Build Thread

well i thought i would now finally share with all of you my new truck (new to me) and its build process so far. I have been doing my research for almost 2 years now on which year to buy and what model. I was stuck on the FX4 look and features, such as gauge cluster, carbon fiber panels, ptm bumpers, etc.. Well it was a trip to the city of Salt Lake at Champion Ford where i saw that perfect truck. Its a 2008 White FX4 Screw, with the long bed. It does have 78,000 on it but, they are reliable, i got the 08 so the bugs are worked out. I love the Truck and have big plans for it.

So far i have only a few mods of what i have done.

1. AVS In-channel vent visors, a must have on any vehicle
2. Sylvania Silverstar Ultras
3. Smoked License plate covers
4. 5% rear window tint, 20% front(a free win on the radio station)
5. Daystar 1" Budget boost leveling kit
6. Sick Oakley Sticker
7. Mud Flaps
8. K&N Air Filter

Future mods

-**** Cepek Torque Wheels
-Toyo MTs
-Recon Light Bar
-Exhaust Tip
-Saleen Grill

Nice truck! Seems you've researched it well enough. I too like the in channel visors and the PO put Husky olded mud flaps on mine, they save the lower rockers. I have them on two T-biords and a Merc GM as well and no stone chips on any of them.

(Not sure how officers view them in your state, but we wrote the hell out of those smoked license plate covers from any state, didn't matter ... no points but it was the best part of a $100 bill down the tubes paying fines. Most who lived local removed them after the first ticket, some took a few. Hardly anyone ever paid attention to "warnings" for them so I stopped wasting my time with warnings for that.)

well its not a recon light bar but i finally got one. went to the local auto parts store last night and found the Anzo 49" 4 function Bar was on sale for 33.99 and i couldn't pass it up. I installed it and have yet to take a few pics. i love it so far and i took some extra precautions to make sure it does last longer than the average diy would install it. I silicone the wire entrance to the bar it self and also the wires connecting to the plug. i then wrapped the wire and plug in electrical tape to protect the wires from rubbing through anytime soon. It looks like a very well made product for being from china, but only time will tell. I will post pics soon.
