It will be a deeper black than the rest of the truck... i pulled mine off my 04 and had to buff the whole truck to get it close

If you pull the decal off you will always be able to tell that it was there. The area around the decal fades. You will NEVER get it to look the same...even if it was done the day it drove off of the lot!

I worked as a painter for 10+ years...took off many a decal!

Regards!

It's not that old. I took decals off of a 98 ranger in 2003. It had the splash stickers all over the sides. Couldn't tell after a good clay bar polish and wax. If you pull it and it does end up not looking good just buy a new set of decals and recover it up!

Last year, 2011 .... I removed the stock one piece FX4 decals from my RED FX4, it's an '07. Did it on a warm day, then simply waxed the truck and you could not tell it. I almost didn't put my new USA flag colored FX4 decals on it looked so good .... but I did anyway as I had bought them because they show up and didn't have that clear stuff and no "fade into red" red "FX" on them ....
