This 4.6 seems about the same as my old 5.4 performance wise
Great lookin truck, I as well love my 4.6, I have ran 33's on it since new off the lot and with intake, exhaust and tuner it has no problem getting up and going!

Nice looking truck man. You will be happy with it. I have an 06 XLT with the 4.6. When I was looking at trucks I test drove a 02 with the old 2V 5.4 and the 4.6 felt almost identical when I drove the 06.
3 years and almost 40k miles later I have absolutely no regrets. My truck is totally stock, and it is by no means fast, but the mileage has been very decent, 18-19 on the highway and 15-16 in town. I have never felt like I needed more power, and I like not having to worry about the plug and cam phaser issues.
Congrats again on a nice truck! Hope it gives you years of worry free service.

His response Oh yes the 4.6 and the 5.4 have identical problems with the plugs breaking.. I asked him if the cam phasers are a problem also and he said told me once again the 4.6 and 5.4 have the same problems.
what a idiot.
Speaking of the plugs i called the ford dealership to get a price on a plug change, he quoted me 400.00 dollars and 47.50 per broken plug.. I asked the service manager do the 4.6's have the plug problem? I thought it was just the 5.4.

Being a 07 (unless im way off) it would be the 2v.. I think the 4.6 3 valve came out in 09?
Congrats on the new truck
Good luck with it!

BTW....Nice new used ride!
The 3 valve 4.6's in the F-150 do not have the plug issues. The heads were redesigned in 08 and the 4.6 3v wasn't offered in the truck till 09.
A plug change in a 2v shouldn't cost you much more than $200. If you can't/don't want to do it yourself, this is something that any halfway competent shop can do. Just make sure to use Motorcraft plugs and torque to 28 ft/lb.
