4x4 not working

I have an '06 F150 SuperCrew King Ranch 4x4 5.4 w/ 130k miles

Every few weeks or so I check my 4wd to insure it still works and gets fresh oil to the rotating parts, etc. (although I did use it about 2 weeks ago to get out of a soft yard) I did it today and I had nothing. No 4x4 lights on the dash(bulbs are good, comes on with key), no noise in the front actuator, and still in 2wd. I have checked to make sure the switch is plugged up on the dash, everything is plugged in at the transfer case, and front diff. All fuses are good under dash and no signs of damage to the relays under the hood. Any idea what my problem could be? I'm thinking a bad dash switch?

With that kind of mileage, my first suspect would be the ESOF motor on the back of the transfer case. Give it a few love taps with a mallet. Sometimes that wakes them up. If that doesn't get you into 4x4, verify you have power going to the motor. (It may have given up the ghost.) If you do have power - and the motor doesn't work - it's an easy fix. The key here is that you're not getting the 4x4 indicator on the dash to light.
