2006 4x4 - AAL or reduce level kit size???

Guys I know there's a weath of info on the level kits and AAL. I'm uncertain about my particular issue. I have a AS 2" level and have for about a year. It always looked perfectly level, but one day I took a measuring tape to it and realized I'm sitting high in the front by 1/8". Not much I know, but it's driving me crazy. I did just get Line-X in the bed and I wonder if the added weight changed the level. I don't want to ***-drag whenever I have stuff in the back either. Anyhow, I don't mind a little rake as long as I'm not rubbing my 33x12.5R20 Toyos. My question is, should I reduce to a 1.5" level kit, or AAL in the back. How much will the 1.5 AAL raise the back, not 1.5" right? I don't know much about adding leaf springs.

I think with the AAL you will be higher in the back than you want. The line-x probably did add some weight. I have an AS 2.5 and a 1.5 AAL. I have a little less rake than from the factory. My bed is line-x and I have the A.R.E cover.

You might think about just getting a block/spacer that is a 1/2 inch or inch higher than your factory one installed. That way you would know exactly how much lift you would be getting. The AAL tends to lift more than the 1.5 advertised. Unless you tow often you really don't need the AAL.

Check out this how-to article:

You can make a zero rate spring that can add small amounts to the rear if you're just looking to get back to level, I made 1/2" blocks and painted them up but realized it wasn't going to be enough to meet my needs

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to just swap my 2" AS level kit for a 1.5". I don't think I'll have any rub with the tires, it appears there's plenty of room under there. I'll have a little rake back, but not near as much rake as stock which is good. In theory, I'd be 3/8" low in front, not bad, probably will still look level by eyesight. With the level kit costing only $75 shipped, seems the cheapest fix?

You probably can get a block for about that price if you don't want to go down any. But you are right that is probably cheaper than the AAL.
