Bestop Supertop
Bestop Supertop
My father's day present came in this week. After a quick install this morning, I thought I'd share a pic. Wife-n-child got me a Bestop Supertop. We've talked about getting a topper for a while now (for camping) but the fiberglass toppers just don't do it for me. And, it's collapsible if I ever need to haul my motorcycle in the bed.

Also, since the last time I posted anything, I painted the stock fender flares and got matte black FX4 decals from ebay. They're MUCH more subtle than the stockers.

Agreed. I'd make it an as-needed-only kind of item. I'd be afraid someone would steal and/or cut it up just to be a jerk. Looks like a good solution for those times when you need to cover something in the bed, or for camping.
This top came with an LED 3rd brake light that is clearly from a lesser vendor. Unfortunately, there is nothing in the instructions about wiring. Mind you, I've done some searching and I've found "that green wire" under the drivers door. But I don't really know what's what on the Bestop end. The light has black, white, and brown wire leads. Anyone know what's what? I kinda feel like a dumby for not being able to figure this out myself.
EDIT: I got ahold of Bestop's customer service last week to ask what their three wires should be hooked to. First I was warned that I should take this to a professional to have the wiring installed. Unoffended, I proceeded to tell him that I already found my F150's green wire and the ground used for the rear lights. I just needed to know what their leads were for. For future reference (and hoping that no one needs to make the same stupid question that I did), white is positive, black is negative, and I was warned NOT to use the brown wire. All info which could have easily been in their instructions. Why not assume the black was negative, you ask? Well, the black is negative in all situations I've seen EXCEPT the trailer brakes. Now I know. And knowing's half the battle.

looks great! looks like your truck ate a Jeep. I wish they had one for a 98 scab flairside.
yea watch out for people cutting in to it. every jeep i have ever owned with a soft top has had its windows sliced to get in! and the worst part is that a) you can just UN ZIP THE THINGS and b)i never locked my door in case if someone was to break in they would not cut the $400 windows to get in! (replaced them 3x in my last jeep)

I had the top down today. Once rolled up, I was still able to fit a loveseat and a queen sized bed in the back with no issues. (We're clearing a room to make room for a new baby...but that's a whole different story.). And when I did the wiring for the third brake light, I used a trailer wiring connection so I would have a weather-proof quick disconnect. I snapped a quick pic to post as a reference for anyone who might be considering one of these. It took me about 10 minutes to put this down by myself.
Soft Shell Camper
I've been struggling to find a shoftshell camper for my 2016 F150! This shell looks ideal. So the side panels open up? Can you refer me to a website or phone number to get in contact with a sale rep? Thanks! You're truck looks awesome.
