How much are upper ball joints?

I'm getting a rattle noise from my passenger wheel well while driving, so first thing I did was replace my wheel bearing ($250 w/shop discount). After that didn't fix it, I noticed that if I shook my tire up and down it had play in the upper ball-joint, which my drivers side did not. What's a rough estimate for a brand new ball-joint (keeping in mind I work in a shop and get ford parts almost 40% off), and is it possible that that's what's causing the rattle noise when the throttle is applied? I would have just called our Ford parts center but by the time I got to call after work, they were closed. I'm in a 2005 F150 4x4.

I like Moog stuff and buy all my parts from rockauto.com. If you Google coupon codes for RockAuto, you might find one for %10 off...

Install yourself, of course.

Upper ball joints are not serviceable stock. That's why you need to change the whole upper control arm with the ball joint. I just put Moog in mine when i was doing the lift.

OEM Motorcraft upper control arms are about 110 bucks each at rockauto.com. I *think* you can get Moog replacements that have removable ball joints.

Whether it's causing a rattle under load or not .... that upper BJ is ready to be replaced.

Rough estimate for costs only for the guy who get's 40% off at the shop is to just price it through the shop I think?
