ABS Sensor Question

I am getting an ABS code for rear wheel speed sensor. It is a circuit fault on rear sensor. How can I test the sensor to see if it is good or bad? Would old fluid in differential make it throw the code? I can post the code, but I will have to go out and read it again.
Thanks

Got an ABS code on my truck about a month ago. Light came on once, and never again. Scanned it, found the code was the rear sensor. Cleared it, and not a thing since.

Talked to the mechanics at work, and they said it's possible that the sensor could just get some dirt or debris on it and it will throw the code because the dirt or debris is causing it to not read properly as the diff turns.

If it comes back again, then I'll worry. But, until then, I'm not the slightest bit worried.

Also, something one of the guys at work told me. If you do a rear sensor like our trucks have, it's probably a good idea to flush and re-fill the diff because pull the sensor can allow dirt and debris to get into the diff.

Pull the sensor, clean it and reinstall it. Clear the code and run it to see if it comes back.

It does come back. I checked the ohms on it out of the differential and it was 81 ohms, is that low or it just me?

There is a Ohm test sorry I don't know the values,That sensor is not very expensive inspect the wiring if it's ok replace the sensor.

It is $117 dollars for the new model trucks. 18 bucks for the Heritage. Not wanting to drop $120 bucks for a non returnable sensor when I dont know for sure its the problem

But did you clean it? I didn't see that you did.
