Bed shakes..vibrates a lot

2008 f150 XLT. Driving down the road, looking in any mirror, the bed shakes..moves a lot! I took it to the dealer and he says there is nothing wrong.

I did have a spray in bed liner done.

Any idea's?

TIA

Eric

I recently purchased my 2004 it also shakes a lot, two other people I know say their bed shakes a lot too. Ever since I noticed mine, riding behind other F150's I notice theirs shaking also.

I checked all the bolts and shook the bed in all directions and it seems tight.

This is only speculation but it may have something to do with the heavy shock bolted right on/ very close to a cross member that supports the bed itself?

mine does this also. it tends to do it on older roads that arent so smooth anymore that have some washboard to them. i think one of my rear wheels isnt perfectly balanced, but i would love to hear more on this topic.

exactly, its because they moved the shocks on the outsides closer to the wheels for better support on turns etc which causes the bed to shake more.

at first it bothered me but realize it better supports the truck on turns so i dont mind it anymore.

So this is normal and nothing to worry about?

My bed on my 08 moves as much as my 04 did. Also I get a rattle in the bed when I close a rear door, I can't hear it driving though.

There's been several threads on this, some trucks, like my '07 FX4 Flareside have a very large piece of cast iron mounted with bolts through rubber isolators up above the left fram rail at the very rear .... and mine does not shake and never has, and my shocks are mounted outside the frame rails.
I posted some pics of the weight I found under mine in one or two of those threads.

OK .... Found the thread with my pics, still good. Go here (https://www.f150online.com/forums/20...-solution.html) and then look at my post #33 and then go to end to post #48 .... and read those between.
