Arrow G.A.P / O.E. Style 04 and 05 Front Bumper Grill Insert

So my Dad just picked up a 04 Lariat Screw with only 60K on it. One owner truck all original in near mint condition.
Well naturally being my Dad the mods have already begun! First on the list I got him a set of Weathertech mats and EGR slimline in channel vent shades.

Found him a set of never mounted factory 09-up lariat wheels. I’m told is same wheels being used on the 2013 King Ranch. Those went on last night!
I’ll see him tonight and take some pictures of the truck to post up. I’m happy he has this and happy he and I have something to work on together again.
Also I will be the trucks third owner when and if he decides he’s moving on to another one.

So now that we’re caught up as it’s been awhile since I posted. The whole reason I’m here is I’m trying to find the G.A.P. OEM style Honeycomb grill insert to fill the nasty void Ford left there.

While I had my 06 I saw them frequently and wanted one but as you know 06 had a different front bumper.

Can anyone please tell me where I can get my hands on a new or used one of these bumper grills??

I have searched the multiple Forums, Google, etc. and found the manufacture number but when I called it I got a Ford dealer and they didn’t know what I was talking about.

I know FoMoCo was making some kind of like is, I bought my FX2 grill and matching bumper grill from him. But my dad likes the OE one just like me can’t stand the gap Ford left. LOL

Thanks Much. If you have one you don’t want PM me.

Here’s what I’m looking for for anyone who may not know what I’m referring to:

When I purchased mine I bought them directly from the manufacturer -- Abbett Effects. The email I have is: pabbett1@hotmail.com -- you might consider dropping him a note at this address and see if they are still available.

I know that shortly after I purchased mine, an aftermarket parts supplier (not sure which one) became the exclusive source for the inserts and were the only place you could get them -- not sure if this is still true or not.

Good luck.....

And holy cow, I just noticed -- MORE SMILIES.........

I checked on this last year for my truck, and the Ford dealer wanted $70 for the mounting plate, and $15 a piece for the two honeycomb pieces...I said no thanks

As far as the center piece, I haven't been able to find anything on it...

I got mine years ago, but can't find it anywhere online anymore. Haven't seen anyone offer one lately either.

Jarod told me they are actually the ones who developed the GAP grill insert. They had them made for them by an outside company.

And good news for any of you guys who want one. He said they have enough to do about 5000 trucks. Well 4999 now. I ordered mine this morning!

Ok, I know that it wouldn't necessarily look "right" to put the side pieces and middle piece in my '08 bumper, but is it even doable? I'm not sure there is room to mount those pieces inside a bumper with that bar that closes the gap off...

I think it would look good, just not sure of the dimensions....

So, does someone make this same filler grill for the '08 FX2? I've seen someone that made their own from an original main grill, but I'm not looking to spend that much time fabricating.

DSGSTX81 Anything is doable. You'd have to do some trimming as the 04-05 bumper gap is larger then on the 06-08.

Blue_Blood I've never seen one made for the 06-08 trucks.

When I had my 06 I switched to an FX2 grill and got a matching FX2 bumper grill from FoMoCo on here that he made. The fit and finish of that was very nice.

I do know guys have made their own inserts by using a factory upper grill as well.

No problem -- glad I could help......

I may even have to buy me a couple extra just so I have them on hand in case something ever happens to the one I have on my truck right now. I plan on keeping my F-150 forever (literally) so you never know.....

I'm reviving this old thread. Both my father and myself are interested in buying a couple of these inserts for our 04 and 05 trucks.

Mr.extreme, Did this work out for you? Is the name and number provided for Jarod Kuebler good?

I'm gonna call Monday if all went well and buy a couple inserts.

Thanks

Yep all is well. Ordered my panel on Monday. It arrived and I installed it last night. Took about two minutes, very easy!

Pics of it in my garage

I got mine five years ago and truly thought they were no longer available for our "old" trucks. But for ~$30, I'm thinking about buying a spare just in case mine breaks down or what have you.

Thanks for the feedback on this guys!
