Noticeable? I guess it depends on the sensitivity of your butt dyno. But why would you elect to lose ANY power?

I realize what sounds 'good' to folks is a subjective matter, but there are many other aftermarket brands (Borla, Dynomax, Magnaflow, etc) that sound good AND flow freely. One can have his cake and eat it too.

As stated, we ARE talking about 6K pound trucks, so every little bit helps.

Having been an owner of a Fartmaster setup on my truck, I can tell you that switching to a more free flowing system is definitely 'noticeable'....in the right direction.

It's the little things that add up.

Suboptimal exhaust, suboptimal tuning, suboptimal gearing, significant increases in rolling resistance, significant increases in rotational inertia ... purty soon, yer talking real losses. Or missed opportunities.. whichever perspective you prefer.

Personal choice - mods for looks/sound, or proven, complementary, supportive mods carefully chosen and aligned to enable tangible gains.

Choice. Yer pick. My opinion.

Wow.

If you're going to attempt to degrade a feller on a forum (very bad form AND against the rules, BTW), at least spell 'idiot' correctly.

So, I'm not sure what you consider being helpful in your neck of the woods, but 'round these parts, when a man tries to advise another 'man' about the possible negative effects of a particular action, that's being helpful.

That's all we were doing. I guess that makes us 'idoits'.

Besides, I thought you said you were prepared for the Fartmaster bashing. Ain't nobody bashed you yet, and you've already taken to calling folks 'idoits'? Nice. Very grown-up of you. Is that what you do in everyday, real life when someone tries to help you, but you just won't have it?

My God, the irony!

WHEW!! Some people's yungins, I swear!

Oh, yer 'prepped' alrighty!

Sure don't take a little criticism & joshin' very well, do you?

Poor you - life must really suck to be so thin-skinned.... on a TRUCK forum, no less

C'mon, buddy - lighten up

Who cares!? The point is he put this on his truck. He likes it. Let's not forget flowmaster has sold millions of mufflers. While you are bashing them..haha. Ok. Sure all is common sense what you all are saying, we all know little gains add up. He didnt ask for that. Maybe question such a decision if he expresses interest in gaining a full exhaust advantage such as headers, high flows, better y pipe, blah blah blah like stated truthfully it all can only do so much.

Ok y'all he's already got the flowmasters... And you've made your stance clear about it. Leave him be.

Truck looks clean, although as previously stated; flowmasters.....meh.

It's all fun and games until the 'idoit' bomb gets dropped. Call it a character flaw, but it's hard for me to let that slide.

I got a flowmaster for free that's why it's on my truck. I do wish it was a little louder though. If it rusts out I want to go with 3" straight pipe all the way from the Y after the catalytic convertors. I just can't bring myself to spend the money until then though. I have always liked the sound of the 40 series myself nice deep rumble but with 4 cats and only one exhaust exit I don't think it will be too loud without it.
