Fail safe mode

My truck went into failsafe mode the other day. All of a sudden I stepped on the gas but no power. I pulled over and it was idleing really bad. Turned it off and back on again. Problem fixed. Took it to autozone and They read the code which said the tps( throttle position sensor) was bad or the APP (accelerator pedal position sensor) I replaced the tps and it worked for one day. Today it broke down and doesn't fix itself anymore. Does anyone know if it's the APP that could be causing my problem?

You might need a whole new electronic throttle body.

Most likely you just need to clean the throttle body. This happened with my 2005. You get a code that says the accelerator motor is bad, but when you look up the causes for that code, it tells you that the most common issue is a dirty throttle body.

I was in town in traffic, going about 35. Gave it some gas, and it died on me. I manuvered over to the side of the steet, tried to restart, it wouldn't. Read the code and it said it was the throttle body accelerator. I sat for about 5 min, tried it again, it started right up. I was 120 miles from home, so I drove it on home with no problem. I cleaned the throttle body and never had another problem.
