Major milestone reached!

Well it's been a while since I've been on the site and one of the first things I come across is aggieben's thread that he'll never buy another POS Ford again, so I thought I would post a major milestone that I reached just last week:

crappy pics I know but hard to get decent pics of the instruments in the day light, anyway my truck is officially over the 200,000 mile mark and still going strong, though I did have the transmission rebuilt at 195,000 miles (I think, I know it's pretty close) and that was due to a crack gear drum housing, I have no complaints at all and would gladly purchase another POS Ford again even though I have no plans of getting rid of the one I have now, I purchased this when it was new, did ALL of the maintenance myself and the only major thing that has been done to it is of course is the trans work, which didn't hurt so bad since all it cost me was the rebuild kit and a new gear drum (I have a friend who is a mech.) Just thought I would share. When I get a chance I'll post a pic of the bad gear drum housing

edit: oh and I am sorry for the bad luck that aggieben did have with his truck, I think he was one of the unfortunate people that sometimes end up with a lemon, for my money I think Ford makes a great product thats not imported or built with taxpayer money

WOOHOO!!! Congrats on 200K! I'll be there in a couple years with my '05.

I have reps who call on me at work that are switching from Chevy/GM to Ford all the time. They log LOTS of highway miles, and most of the Chubbies are on their third trannies in 200-250K miles. A few of them are on their second motors.

Looks like Ford ain't all that bad after all.

Congrats on 200k...in a couple of days I will turn 125k...

Very mixed as to wether or not I will buy another Ford...My truck has had alot of problems in its 7 year life...and still does today...but when it is running good, its a very comfortable and good looking truck...only the odometer will tell how much longer it will last...

Regards!

I can say with confidence that I would buy another Ford. This is my third F150 and no major problems with either of them. Could be just dumb luck I know...

What engine do you have? I know I know what it is but I'm drawing a blank.

I've had 6 vehicles over the last 7 or 8 years, all Fords. Never even consider another brand.

Congrats on the well deserved miles. I've always drove Ford and always will, they build a good product and never let me down. This buds on me

Thanks truckguy and to everyone else. I feel fortunate considering all the issues these 3v 5.4s have had from the very beginning and I think mine has had all the possible bugs, the injectors, spark plugs etc. and all the other things on these trucks as well like the IWE, FPDM and so on, but all in all it has still been the best ride I've ever owned and I've had other fords as well as a chevy (never a dodge) and I'm very happy with it, and like I said before I have no intentions of getting rid of it, I'll keep it for another 200,000 miles, even if I eventually have have to get another engine for it. If I ever come into some extra money I might treat myself to a fully loaded F150, but for now this is my work truck and I'm lovin' it.
