4wd actuator prob.

My vehicle:
2007 Ford Truck F 150 4WD V8-5.4L VIN V Flex Fuel

Hello all, in a previos post (older post) I said that I was hearing a rattling sound in the front driver side wheel well, seems all my posts has been removed.
anyway after alot of research and other post on here its prob my 4wd actuator.

getting rattling when in 2wd when letting off the gas it goes away, it also goes away when I shift into 4wd.

This is the part I was told that was the prob:
http://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/...05&fp=pp&gbm=a

Is this something I can fix myself, I try and do most the repairs to save money, and do I need any special tools.
and also is there a step by step maybe with pics/video on replacing it.

and also I was told it could be a vacuum leak but Im not sure how to search down the vacuum hoses and stuff is there a simple step by step on that? I looked at diagrams but get lost looking at it.

Thks for all the help, ppl here are very helpful and I appreciate it very much.

If you have any mechanical skills then you probably could handle the replacement. Im not sure on the vacuum deal. Might be beneficial to take it to a shop for diagnosis if you cant pinpoint it.

It's not too difficult. I did both of mine in the driveway. That's a good price for the IWE by the way (and yes, it is the correct part). Here's good instructions with pictures and a list of tools required...

Enjoy saving yourself a couple hundred $$ in labor charges by doing the work.
