Fuel Pump Replacement DIY?

I searched, anybody done one and have a brief write up? I figure its typical "let the tank run nearly dry if you can" scenario and then remove straps and lower and disconnect what you can see until its down then spin the ring and pull it out. Not my first rodeo, just looking for any tips. I'm pretty sure my pump is getting weak and I tow with the truck and don't want to break down with a load on the back so I'm doing some proactive maintenance like plugs/coils/boots/pump. Already did the FPDM and for those in states that don't use salt, it will have corroded not at all, take it from a Texas truck owner.

I have heard of pulling off the bed to get to the pump is easier than dropping the tank.

I don't have a hoist or enough friends nearby willing to help me lift off the bed, its gonna be the hard way.
