New 295/70/18 Trail Grapplers

Picked this set up off a guy on CL for only $750. They have less than 1k miles on them so pretty much brand new. Already got my old set sold so came out pretty good on the deal.
So far I'm very impressed with these tires. They were kind of a pain for the shop to balance (had to use beads) but that's been the only con. Reset my Edge Evo so I feel very little power loss. A little slower off the line but that is to be expected. Slight hum at highway speeds but nothing like I imagined they would sound like with such an aggressive tread. No rubbing and no trimming needed with my 2.5" level. Can't wait to get them a little dirty after the next rainfall!

~ Here are the old 275/65/18 Yokohama Geolander AT/S's

~ And here's the new 295/70/18 Trails

I don't know what gears you have stock, but I'd be looking at moving up to 4.56's if I were you. That is, if you like your transmission at all.

I have the stock 3.73's now. There are a lot of guys on here running this size tire on stock gears though?
You really think the 4.56's are necessary?

I don't think 4.56's are necessary, IMO that's TOO low of gear for a 34" tire. If I were to re gear with those tires I'd go with something more like 4:10's. That should bring you back close to stock.

Yeah I always kind of thought 4.56's were for 6" lifts and 37's ha.
Will running these on the stock 3.73's really hurt the tranny over time ya think?
