Steering Wheel Removal

My only question is how do I get access to the controls such as cruise on my steering wheel I am swapping out all LEDs for blue ones I have the gauges power locks and windows, interior lights and headlight switch changed out I am waiting on LEDs for the HVAC but my question is I need to remove the steering wheel circuit board so that I can access the cruise LEDs to swap them to blue. Can anyone give me details of removing the airbag and horn to access the circuit board?

first disconnect the battery and leave the headlight switch on for a few mins to drain all residual power from the system. then, if you look on the sides of the steering wheel there are screw caps. remove those and it will give you access to the screws. remove those and the airbag can be removed. then you will have access to the steering wheel buttons. i did this when i had my ranger and it only took me about 10 mins.

Thank You Very Much. How do I remove the airbag on a 2004-08 F150 do I need to remove pins or clips or does it come right out after I take off cover(horn)?

You Have To Mod The Window Switches With 3mm LEDs and the Drivers Side on XLT Power Everything Are PLCC-2 SMD Lights I Got 50x blue PLC-2 SMDs For Drivers Side HVAC Controls And Headlight Switch And 4X4 Switch And 20x 3mm But You'll Need 470 Resistors 1/8 Size From Radio Shack. For Safety Incase You Screw Up With All Other Switches Besides Drivers Side And Dash HVAC. All Other SMD LEDs Are Soldered Were The Old 1's Were They Just Need Desoldered I Can Let You Know On Polarity. I Bought All My Lights Off Of EBay Don't Buy Any From China UK And US Is Were I Bought They Were Somewhat More But Worth It Because The Chinese Ones Are Junk. If You Need Any Help I'll Tell You I Have Done Everything But Steering Wheel And HVAC But I'm Doing It This Weekend If You Need Pics I'll Send You Them Just Give Me Your E-Mail Address And I'll Help You Out

07F150Lifted, it would be great if you could post some pics on the forum. I plan on doing this swap in the next few weeks.

If you don't mind can I ping you if I get stuck or have any questions...etc.?

K, doing my first switch and the led keep burning out. Maybe I am wiring it wrong...they light up then pop then burn out. Do I need to add resistors? I have a 2007 FX4 SuperCrew

If You Are Doing The 2 X 3mm LEDs For The Window Switches Then You Need A 470 Resistor - 1/8 Watt Then They Wont Burn Out
