LED's usually run on anywhere between 2 and 3 volts depending on the LED. Hook em up to full voltage and they won't last but a half a second, sometimes completely blowing apart. If you send the specs for the LED, voltage and current, and what voltage your battery sees at 2000 RPM, I can tell you what resistor to use. Or you can purchase a "LED Driver module" and be done with it. The module provides a steady output voltage to the LEDs over a wide range of vehicle voltage conditions.
