driver side window dropped out of sight!
i started my truck (its cold out) and when i returned to it i had no glass! i tried the motor and it worked but no glass. im assuming something on the regulator or something broke? shopping around I found this:

they both said they had to re-wire the plug for it to work?

While you are in there for the regulator, clean the switch as preventative maintenance.

^^ what he said. I had to rewire mine also. Not a big deal. I actually left the wires backwards until the next time I had the panel off, a few months at least. I didn't realize it was only the 04-05 trucks though, just figured it was a bad batch from the factory. Mine is an 04 so it very well could be.
had this happen to me this past fall. Took out the regulator and found the only thin gwrong was the little pins that couple the motor to the regulator had broke. I have a friend that owns a body shop and he used the glue that he uses for replacment panels on the motor pins and it has worked like new.
I believe only 2004 or 2004-05 have to be rewired. When my regulator went out, it had to be rewired because when you tried to roll the window down, it would go up, and vice versa. It is as simple as cutting the two wires that run to the window motor, swapping the wires, and crimping them. The window assembly even comes with two crimps to use.
