painting oem headlights to match HDs?

im referring to the process of baking, prying, painting, and re-sealing the oem headlights.

i searched, but couldnt find any threads on it. i did this on my last few subarus, but has anyone done it to an f150?

i feel like blacked out headlights would make my truck look worlds better...

Look in the how to section. There is a long write up on this. Guys have been doing this for years.

Lordfeyr just painted a set for me. $40 for his work + shipping both ways. 100% Harley style ( gloss black paint & black bulb cover ), and a addition, deep smoked reflectors.

Been wanting to get my headlights done, but I think this might be out of my pay grade. Did some looking around and found some on fleabay for a good price. Curious to see if anyone has experience with the quality of these.

Thanks,
I tried a set of the chrome ones like that and had problems with them fogging up on me. The headlight bulb never seemed to seal correctly. Others have used them without issue.

Thanks,
Make sure you run a bead of silicone all the way around the lights. Those aftermarket ones are never sealed as well as the OEMs.

That sounds like a great idea.
I can just see me trying the DIY and cracking something. Think I would rather pay $85 for a new set and be done with it. Definately going to run some black silicone around the edge.
thanks for the info...

I do not have any complete pics and I have not received them yet, but here are the photos Lordfeyr took during the process.

And again, they are genuine style harley davidson, just with smoked reflectors.
