Gonna call bs, 3 mpg would be less than 100 mile per tank... Based on the bad spelling, I'm going to assume horrendous math skills as well

Same issue...
it was getting 18-20 mpg when I first got it in 07 but since then it has slowly gotten worse.
Last check was 12 mpg, what the heck....
Only symtoms I've noticed are:
ON a long uphill grade the engine just howls like a dogged out detuned 80's model! Unless I give it more pedal then it seems like too much.
Also the diff seems to have a lot of slack in it, I can feel it taking up when starting out from a stop. It doesn't seem to be in the driveshaft, I locked the EB down and in neutral, grabbed the driveshaft and rocked it. Reminds me of and old Dodge with worn out spiders.

I attribute 80 percent of the MPG issue to fuel blends, the other 20 is the thing probably needs plugs (101k) and a good BG enemma.
The replacement tires I got, Capitol brand, are soft and noisy.. that may be another 5 percent reduction in MPG who knows!

I had a Silverado before (5.3) and it got 18-22 mpg, I really hoped the Ford would be as good but hey, it is still better than having a mini truck getting the same MPG.

Everyone stop LOL

This guy is a clown. He thinks he is getting 3 MPG. He types like a teenager that has to start every statement with "like" and end every sentence with "so"....
Plugs and boots aren't going to knock your mileage down like that, they would make your truck run really bad. A clogged fuel filter isn't going to cut your MPGs by 70%, its more likely bad math. Either someone is siphoning your tank or you have a leak. Regardless you could think of a few things to better track your issues such as making a note of the fuel gauge when you park it for the evening and where its at when you start the truck. You could smell the brakes after a long drive if they were dragging. There are a myriad of things you could do to "help us help you" but you are not doing them. I don't see mileage logs, gallons of fuel used, etc...
Life is hard enough as it is, being stupid certainly doesn't help.

Hmmm...

He may not have the best grammar when posting but I can understand what he is typing. There is really no need to sit here and call someone stupid when they are just trying to figure out an issue.

monoxide. Did you ever figure this out or are you still having the same problem?

General maintainence can go a long way. When i purchased my truck i started noticing all kinds of issues. Rough idle, sputtering under WOT and every now and then the truck would just die out of nowhere. I did fuel filter, plugs, MAF clean, TB clean, brakes and probably a few other things I cant remember. It runs like a dream now and have not had an issue with it shutting down out of nowhere.

From reading all the posts, I suspect the cats are melted and blocking the exhaust. This would mean a lack of power, much more throttle to get the truck to move, overheating the motor, noises etc.
You cannot fail to have the OX sensors report an issue this bad.
If the cats are melted, the sensors may also be melted and not work at all.
There would be codes telling you this.
When OX sensors don't work, the system uses fixed rich fuel tables to run the motor.
The last resort is to have some one put a good Scanner on and look at the live data instead for just keep running the truck with such issues and keep guessing with parts..
At this point the parts purchused cost more than a good SCANNER that would have provided some info as to what the problems are providing you can understand what your looking at.
Suppose your Doctor just guessed at what was wrong with you instead of diagnosing from a point of knowledge and prescribing medication?
You need help with this instead of struggleing with it.
Good luck.
