Plugs swapped at 135,000 miles

Well, at just shy of 135,000 miles and well past due on a spark plug swap I finally had it done. The mechanic did the swap for $290 with only one broken plug. Plug #7. I'm very happen it went as smooth as it did. The one broken plug probably gave him some fits, but with my luck and 135,000 miles I was expecting much worse.

Awesome you can't ask for much more when it comes to plugs some days are better then others.

Did you notice a difference in the truck after you changed them

Nice! This problem has been well known and documented the past few years, you rarely hear of people having much trouble anymore.

To be honest with you I really haven't noticed a difference. The plugs were dirty, but they didn't have as much buildup as I thought they would at 135,000 miles.

That's amazing. back in the 60s, we thought we had done something to get 12,000 miles out of a set of plugs.

Did you buy it new and/or know for a fact that the plugs were original?

Its funny you say that, I was watchin a movie from 1933 and it was about a service station. In the background it had a billboard that said change your spark plugs for extended performance every 25,000 miles!

Was $290 the charge going into it, or was there extra cost for broken #7? Getting close to needing to do this on my '06
