For some reason the rear doors are a bitch to get closed on my truck. They require being slammed (sometimes more than once) to get them to latch properly. When they don't latch they rattle like crazy. it seems to be a problem with the bottom latch because the top is snug but I can get about 1/4 play out of the bottom one....Any ideas or fixes?? Seems to be worse on the driver side.

Had the same issue on my 05 in cold weather. I just kept spraying the bottom latches with WD40 and it worked. Seems like water gets in there and makes the latches freeze up. If you are not in a cold climate state then I'm not sure.

 

Its cold right now in the 20's so that might be the issue, I will try it out, thanks

 

my rear driver door closes fine but is hard to open you have to really push on it to open it

 

Maybe the gaskets are a bit stiff when cold ????? All kinds of crazy stuff / squeaks / rattles happen in the cold. Flowers bloom and everything seems to correct itself.
