Looking for a switched hot under the hood

I've been searching on and off for a while now... It's been one of those ongoing projects... What I'm looking for is a under the hood ignition switched hot wire I can use to provide power to a relay. I have the wig-wag controller for the headlights and the tail lights. And when I installed it I was in a hurry to make it work... in the instructions it says in BOLD and in ITALICS... DO NOT WIRE DIRECTLY TO BATTERY... and that's exactly what I did. Well, now I know why. It KILLS your battery if you don't drive it every day. I hooked up a multi-meter /amp-meter to it and it draws ~4 amps while OFF. <----THERE'S YOUR PROBLEM!! So, I went ahead an installed a relay, but I haven't been able to find a switched hot under the hood (that's easily identifiable... I don't want to connect it to a COP or something... that would just be crazy! Currently, I have it connected to a switch i have under the dash. But, with that switch OFF, I don't have any HI Beam's. The Wig-Wags operate the HI Beam's and intercepts the factory circuit. So, as long as the switch is off, I have NO Hi Beam's, If I flip on the switch, the HI Beam's work but also activates the Wig-Wags... So you see the problem... especially since I have to get my truck inspected now...
