Need Opinions Please

My buddy has a 2007 F150 5.4 supercrew 4wd with 180,000 plus miles on it. He is in the market for a new tahoe and I can buy his truck cheap (under $10,000) compared to what I have seen those models are selling for on craigslist, autotrader, carsdirect, etc. He has all service records and looks like it has been done regularly. Nothing major has been done, I think a brake caliper is the biggest thing so far.

I figure even when the time comes that I have to replace the engine and trans I will still be good on price. I guess I am just looking for a little reassurance ??

Looked at the new F150's but just cant really get into the look of them, not to mention the price tag that comes with it.

Thanks in advance,
Jeff

That's a good deal, I'd jump on it. Check to make sure the sparkplugs were changed though, that's the biggest problem that gen truck has.

Post up some pics when you can also

Nothing has been done under the hood but oil changes.

No pics of it. Its Charcoal with cloth interior, has full console with floor sifter.

That's still a good deal. If you're in the market for a new truck I'd suggest going for it. First thing though, have it checked out at a shop to make sure there are no major surprises waiting. and then get the spark plugs changed

If the plugs haven't been changed, then that would be the first thing to do. Cam phasers might need replacing too if you don't want it to sound like a diesel. Fuel filter definitely needs to be replaced if it never has been. I would only worry about the tranny if it's showing problems (hard shifts or slippage).

plugs! what about fluids in the tranny and rear diff. make sure to have a mechanic look at it, and give it a good test drive.
