Brush guard vs light bar

Hello,
I know there are the obvious visual differences between the 2 but i was wondering what you guys thoughts were on it. Does a brush guard look better on a green 2005 f150 s-crew? Or is it a bit too much? Also what kind of brush guards look good and where can i view them online? And what do your brush guards look like?

ranchhand makes the best grille guard. it's solid as a rock and it fits the curves of the body better than other guards. heres mine

Brushguargs are fine if you really like them or need them, otherwise I like the bull bar/light bars better for appearance purposes.

I think both look good good, but some look better on certain trucks. If you go with a brush guard, I would definantly go with the ranch hand. My dad has one on his f350, and it solid and looks great. I wanted one really bad, but the black just wouldn't have looked right on my truck, so I went with a chrome aries brush guard. Post up some pics of your truck so we can give you some more opinions.

I'll post a picture when I get back to my computer. Also, where can I buy a ranch hand? I found one place called Sams4x4.com that has em but no place else yet

Look at autoanything.com for the brush guard. I ordered mine from there and my dad ordered his ranch hand from there. They had the best prices I could find, plus free shipping and they have great service. Other places were quoting me $100+ just for shipping.

advantage is they still have tow hooks, you lose the ability of front tow hooks with a bull bar (without custom fab). Losing tow hooks would be a deal breaker for me.

legend series. i got mine on craislist for $200 but they're about $450-500 new. it really is worth it though, it doesn't budge one bit and its made stronger than other grille guards. just make sure you get 04-05 model because it has different brackets than the 06-08, found that out the hard way

Here is a thread with my truck with a brushguard and later a Bull bar. It might give you an idea how they compare.

I hope this helps.
