New To Forum Looking at 2007 Lariat

Hi Everyone,

I've just joined the forum as I'm looking to buy my first Ford a F150 Lariat 2007 model with 161000kms on it. I have a couple of quick questions to ask you experts if I may?
The engine is very quiet no ticks like several I have checked out so far so that's good and it has had an exhaust manifold replaced since the dealer has had it, should I be worried if they have replaced only one manifold also they are not a ford dealer. Again it does sound sweet when cold.
It has a horrible looking cd player in it which I would want to switch to a stock unit not sure why this was done and I don't know if the steering controls still work.
Nothing on the outside of the truck says Lariat, is this normal for the 07 model?

Also no heated seats or powered rear window I thought all Lariats came with these options.
Any suggestions would be great and thanks in advance,

Peter

Can you get the VIN? You should be able to look up the original window sticker with that and find out what it really is.

What engine? Should be a badge on the front quarter panel that says Larait. Should have leather and small fender flares.

Welcome to the site. Hope you get it figured out.

With that many miles or kilometers, I'd probably get new spark plugs to be on the safe side. Better be safe than sorry.

+1 for the VIN number. It'll tell you exactly what it is. It could be a clone but who knows?

Hi Guys, any idea where the best place is to search serial details I've decoded the number but it doesn't show anything for the lariat package or any other trim details.

Regards,
Peter

Sounds like a FX4 to me, with the fender decals taken off. For the FX4's on the side badges it will only say 5.4 Triton, unlike XL, XLT, Lariat (not sure about STX).
To be sure more info is needed: engine?, leather?, automatic climate control?, chrome or ptm bumpers? grille style?

If I'm not mistaken if it's a Lariat it FX4 it'll be written on the gauge cluster. The FX4 leather seats are perforated(holes). The Lariat has woodgrain around the radio and on the door panels.

He said it had chrome bumpers, that alone eliminates the FX4 option, unless someone swapped the bumpers.
