Did I get scammed?
I bought my truck after the 2009s came out. For 2009+ they added Cruise Control to the XL Chrome Package.
I made the mistake of assuming it was the same before that.
All of the V8 trucks (4.6 or 5.4) will have "Triton" on the fender badge. If it is a 4.6 it will only have "Triton" under the F-150. The 5.4's have the trim level and "5.4 Triton".
The exception is the FX4. They only have "5.4 Triton".
There's also the rather rare STX with a 5.4. They also would only have the "5.4 Triton" badges. Though most STX's have either a 4.2 V6 or 4.6 V8. The V6 models only have F-150 on the badge with no mention of the trim or engine type. The 4.6 V8 models will have the F-150 Badge with "Triton" along the bottom.
The King Ranch and Harley Davidson trucks have their own special badges and don't have any mention of the engine on them.
If it doesn't say Triton one of two things happened:
1. The truck has a 4.2L V6
2. The fender badges have been replaced and whoever did the work didn't use the right ones.
I made the mistake of assuming it was the same before that.

There was a special package that got you a 5.4 and 20" wheels and tires on a STX. Don't remember the name of it, but I have seen a couple of them over the years.
I know they did a Limited Edition STX here in MS in 2006, wondering if that is it? It had a "Limited Edition" decal placed under the regular STX decal....
