6cd changer died, need advice on what harness to buy?

http://www.amazon.com/Metra-70-5521-...9486649&sr=8-1

I need to replace the 6cd changer head unit in my 06 lariat, the radio locked up changing cds, i took it apart and removed the cds etc.. but it still throws a CD ERROR message. I want to replace it with a cheap USB only stereo...lol no more moving parts.

I have a concern though, I have the factory steering wheel controls for the AC/Cruise/Radio. I know the radio control will be non-functional after the radio swap however WHAT will happen to my AC controls. Will the AC controls remain intact?

Also, I posted the link to the wiring harness I think I need. I have the factory subwoofer under the rear seat, is this the correct harness. I know the amp turnon will pop badly if I put 12v to it. What is the correct/best wiring harness I need to purchase to hook up a cheap aftermarket radio so I can keep my sub woofer in use?

just for future reference, the temp/fan controls will still work if the factory radio is pulled out. metra makes a good interface for aftermarket radios to work with factory steering wheel controls. its the axxess aswc. that harness you linked to will work with your factory subwoofer. just put a 3000 ohm resistor on the amp turn on lead to prevent the turn on pop.

just make sure you dont put any burned cds in the changer that have those stick on labels on them. those always clog up the changer b/c theyre too thick.

No it doesn't. I had a 6 cd changer in my truck that the cd player didn't work and the radio would get static randomly. Usually a "light tap" would fix it. One day it didn't and the green plate over the display ended up in a bunch of little pieces. :o I replaced it with a factory single CD, wish I would have done that in the first place.
