another way to fix 5.4 broken plugs
another way to fix 5.4 broken plugs
I just changed the plugs on 2006 f150 5.4 3v and had 7 of 8 break off leaving porcelain tip in sleeve.
there was no porcelain removing tip available locally so I bought some permatex 64050 high heat sleeve retainer, cleaned the tips with brake cleen and glued in pieces of coat hanger that measured approx. .080 in. in diameter and let set over night. I then took the sleeve remover tool, put the outer guide in place and used my pop rivet gun, end supported by guide, to pull the wire and porcelain out of the sleeve. then used sleeve remover tool to finish the job. Hope this helps someone else. leserg.
