replacing exhaust manifold

so i had a great weekend project to do. last week my passenger side exhaust manifold started leaking so i got the parts and had a frustrating day in the garage. i replaced it with a stock one from ford, apparently they do have an new version of the manifold, see how long this one last. i was gonna go for headers but i heard the shortys dont really give you much gain and the passenger side alone is a pain in the ***. was definitly aggravating at times but its all done now and no leaks and hopefully stays that way for a while.

I got a question about this. How did you get the third cylinder lower nut off? My engine mount plate seems to be in the way, did you have this same problem?

I will say that the drivers side comes off fairly easy. I'm in the middle of installing some OBX long tubes right now and everything but the passenger side is fairly straight forward and simple...ish.

But I'm working a 03.

Hey when you manifold started leaking did it make a clicking sound at idle and it progressively got louder when you would excelerate? Im trying to figure out if I have a problem with my manifold or with my head gasket.

TRC,

usually it is only present at acceleration if you have a manifold leak..
