coolant leaking from coolant overflow tank on 07

i have an 07 5.4 and just home noticing coolant leaking from the coolant overflow tank. the hose from the radiator to tank looks fine, but fluid is flowing from the middle of the tank down the large hose leading to the base of the motor. i also see fluid sitting around the middle ridge of the tank. tank looks corroded. noticed that "warm" the fluid is at 1/2 tank level, just under the "cold fill level" printed on tank. should i just replace the tank?

fluid stopped leaking after 5 minutes.

where should i start??

First off, I think it's a reservoir, as opposed to an overflow because it is pressurized. Most overflow tanks were outside of the pressurized system. I would refill to the marks and see if it continues to leak. If it does, I think you'll have to replace the reservoir.

most likely you got your engine too hot, and not enough coolant/too much water and it boiled over. flush your coolant and make sure its 50/50

it is also an overflow tank, it has a separate chamber for overflow and it then goes back into the system once cooled down

the tank is 1/2 full, and i have been watching it for the last day of driving and no change with no leaks so far. i will refill to the marks on the reservoir in the morning and monitor for leaks.
