Alright, another fuel gauge problem

I have a 07 with the optional 37 gallon tank. My truck has 61k with no problems at all.

Now my driveway is at a slight slant. A couple nights ago, I hoped in the truck and my fuel gauge read in the red, with only 13 miles to empty. I was only running around the corner, so I didn't fill up. The truck was also backed in my driveway. When I got home I put it nose first in my driveway.

Then next morning, I decided to drive it to work. I got in, started it and my fuel gauge read over a 1/4 and about 150 miles till empty. I thought it was strange, but figured it was because the truck was in nose first and the fuel was pushed to the back of the tank.

Not trusting the gauge, I stopped at my corner gas station and only put 20 bucks in it. (it's one of the most expensive stations in my area, so I didn't fill...)

Now my computer says I can go 200 miles till empty. At this point, the truck has been on a level ground for at least 15 minutes. I drive it all the way to work, about 30 miles, and it still reads just under a half, and about 200 miles till empty. The truck sits all day on a level ground, I get in at the end of the day and not much changes. By the time I get home it's reading a little more then 1/4 and just over 100 miles till empty.

I park it nose first. Got in this morning and the gauge is back up to 1/2 and 250 miles till empty. No gas was added.

Now I been searching around, and it's not the leaving my keys in while filling. I have a locking gas cap, and have to take my keys out to put gas in. I'm really confused. It was normal for my gauge reads a little off due to backing in my driveway, but it will adjust itself once the truck is on level ground. But now it doesn't seem to be doing that.

I wonder if the float is stuck? Any ideas? I plan on filling today, just to make sure. So what do you guys/gals think?

try running some sort of cleaner too. i had a customer come into advance the other day that had a stuck sending unit in a trailblazer. we pulled a pump off the shelf and the sending unit has a small metal place that the arm of the float rubs against to tell it how much fuel is in there, he said he had been reading how sometimes junk can build up on that tiny metal electronic strip and freak it out. id fill it and use some sort of cleaner in there like seafoam or something. i think that should pull the float way up and clean it out.

Ya actually I have a can of that in my garage and was gonna use it. Thanks for the advice. I'll report back and let you guys know.

BTW, I did a test. Backed it up my driveway and left it there overnight. Just checked this morning and it's reading just under a half tank. Again, no fuel added. But I'm taking the family to the beach today, so I'll be filling no matter what. I know I can get about 450-500 miles a tank, so I'll just have to go by that instead of the gauge.
