What's up ya'll? I am new to the board but I have been a Ford driver for over 30 years and running! I am looking at picking up a 2007 FX4 from a local dealer here in town since I no longer need my diesel. I just wanted to see what ya'll thought about the price of the truck. It is in excellent condition with brand new tires and the factory 20" wheels. Also, just had a flowmaster exhaust installed before the guy traded it in (One owner). Paint is in excellent condition with no scratches or dings at all. Cloth interior - bed liner.

Sticker Price - $21,990
Salesmen's Price - $21,000 out the door.

Do you think this is a fair price for the condition that it is in with fairly low miles or what would your guys offer to the dealer be? Thanks a lot ya'll, any help will be greatly appreciated!

 

If it were me I'd jump on it. I got my 04 FX4 10 months ago with 106,000 for $13,500, so the 07 you're looking at sounds like a good deal IMO. Take it for a 15-20 minute drive, then when you get back to the dealership get out of the truck (with it running) and listen to see if it has the infamous cam phaser knock. Even though MOST of the time it isn't a big issue, there have been cases where the cam phasers cause problems such as oil pressure, drivability ect.

Also, if it's a later MY 07 you will more than likely avoid the broken spark plug issue.

 

Depends on the demand/surplus in your region......the price sounds about right...good luck!

 

I bought mine in August 2009, it too is a '07 FX4. I know that it'll bring might near as much today as it did then .... but then I got it just as the "cash for clunkers" fiasco was in full swing and after that, values on used vehicles went up.

So, with that in mind .... and simply by what you've posted .... $21K sounds OK.

What color? Scab or Acrew?

Like yours, mine had a like new Flowmaster exhaust with dual outlets out back but way too loud /roning like for me. I added a simple 28" long Thrush 24214 2.5" straight glasspack in line ahead of the Flowmaster as a resonator .... I love it after that. No drone, nice tone, not too loud.

 

It is silver with the chrome bumpers (Supercab). Thanks a lot for all of the information so far!
