Alignment Problem.

I took my Truck into Ford yesterday to fix the alignment problem that nobody else could. They said they'd install the Camber kit and everything will be ok.

Long story short, when everything was said and done, They said the vehicle was in specs, and there was no need to put a camber kit on, because my truck was able to be adjusted. They said they'd call Ford Engineers and see what they can do. But until then, my alignment is still bad.

Has anyone ever tried to go against what the specs say? Cause both sides, while there in specs have a Positive camber problem.

What have some of you tried to fix this problem? Cause im at a loss.

If it has a positive camber problem and they say it's in specs, you need somebody that's better at alignment. I did alignment for a # of years and I never once had a vehicle (car or truck) that I couldn't align and make go straight down the road. Have once in a while had one that had radial tire pull, but that had nothing to do with having positive camber.
You didn't say what kind of drivability problems you're having, or is it just the positive camber, not drivability? That's very strange that they have a PC problem, if anything cars and trucks develop neg. camb. by nature of the weight forcing the top of the wheel in.

As for Drivability the vehicle pulls to the right a significant amount. All the tire shops in Southern california said its natural for the Vehicle to pull a little to the right. But my steering where isint straight. It drives straight down the road if I pull it to the left a little bit, no matter what type of surface im on. Flat or not. I always have to hold the wheel at about 11 0'clock.

If that dealer told you that was normal you should never go back there again. Find a new dealer that knows what the hell they are doing.

My wheel sits perfectly straight and the truck drives straight when I let go of the wheel. I've had the camber kit installed on both sides to fix my alignment. Wider wheels, tires, and a level kit messed up my alignment bad and the camber kits were the only way to fix it.

I originally went to put the kit on, but they said it didnt need it. As much as I wanted to tell them to put it on anyway, I thought they knew best. The only shop that ever succeeded with getting the camber correct didnt use a computer. Which makes me wonder whats up with the specs.

I absolutely agree with the poster above you. Those are some lame FE shops. ANY decent FE guy should be able to tell you what's going on with it, or they shouldn't be in the business. I have seen plenty of FE guys (lazy) who will tell you it's "in specs" when one side is to one extreme of specs and the other side is to the same extreme of specs. It may be "in specs", but it sure as heck isn't going to drive right. Get someone who knows what they're doing. I've seen some who should be collecting garbage instead of doing FE alignment. Sounds like you have too!

I am in a similar situation...I ran a 3 inch level kit for over 2 years with no issues and no camber bolts...then at 45,000 I wanted to replace my upper/lower ball joints and while there I did the tie rod ends too...went to same shop for alignment and was told I needed camber bolts...after instaled my truck drove ok but made noise now and then which I believe is the knuckel hitting the spring...then in like 500 miles I noticed the upper joints were ripped...all parts are moog...wondering if they are different than motorcraft and that is my issue...

Anybody??

Also installed a 2 1/2 kit to help and still makes noise...
