Replaced Swith and Motor and Regulator!!!!

2005 King Ranch

My driver side window stopped the other day almost all the way down, I couldn't get it to roll up or down. So I replaced the switch and a new regulator with new motor and I know I did everything correctly. But the little motor clamps still won't roll up? I have the windows vice gripped all the way up and the clamps are all the way at the bottom. I reconnected switch to try and test that regulator would work and roll it up so I could reatach them to the pane, but it doesn't work? All my other windows and power locks work so I know it isn't the fuse. Anyone can offer me any help I would be in your debt. Thanks...

Sounds as if you have a defective motor or switch. If you are talking about the clamps on each side, in the channels that are to be fastened to the bottom of the glass, they should go up. I tape the glass in the up position, back off the bolts on the clamps, then use the motor to run them up to the glass. Then I tighten the bolts and all works.

You might try cleaning the old switch and putting it back in. Mine stopped and after I cleaned the contacts, works fine.

I assume you have reviewed these:

Thanks for reply bluejay

Yes I did try that on my switch and reviewed those threads. I just bought a new swith and regulator with motor because I was tired of messing with it. And i'm pretty sure I did everything correctly on installation and the clamps at the bottom still won't move up when I power it. I know it's not fuse or switch because the rest of the windows work and the switch and motor are new. That is what is driving me crazy? I appreciate your help though bluejay you are always informative and polite.

There are the blue and green plugs that go to the buttons or switches, but did you plug in the black power plug? It's smaller.

Are the clamps in the same position as when the window origianlly stopped? In other words, has there been no power at those clamps since the problem started? If that is the case, there may have not been anything wrong with your switch or the motor on the regulator. It may be back up the line. Be sure and check to see if there is more than one fuse.

If all fuses are good, then I'm wondering if you may have a problem in the Body Control Module. It's located behind the back of the rear seat on a Screw.

regulator

well i put a new regulator and motor in so it shouldn't be a problem with either of those. and when i push the switch it feels like it is getting power plus the other windows work and aren't they all on the same fuse?

How would I check to see if something is wrong with BCM? I hate to admit my noobness but would I use a multimeter? and what wire would I check?

sounds like you have replaced all the obvious parts... now its time to track down the power path... maybe a wire has snapped somewhere?

Do you have a multi-meter? I would check connections starting at the switch and working to the motor and see where the wires stop being HOT...

PS - what does a switch with power feel like???

If the motor is trying to run, it has power and the switches are working. Has to be a bind or something in the regulator.

x2

are you sure you put it back together right?

maybe you got a bad regulator... try exchanging it for a different one.
